Yet another woman molested at civil hosp

The woman complained about the alleged accused to the hospital staff following which he was arrested.“The woman was accompanied by her two children to the hospital that evening. The accused, Manoj Manpe, touched her inappropriately when she was standing near the paediatric ward. We have already sent two proposals asking for security guards for the hospital and are awaiting their sanction,” said Dr Sangita Makode, additional civil surgeon at the hospital. Thane: Yet another incident of molestation was reported at the Thane civil hospital on Wednesday within a span of almost a month after two such incidents.A 35-year-old housewife was allegedly molested by a helper from the hospital, while she was standing near the paediatric ward on Wednesday evening. She then complained about Manpe to the nurses around, who later informed us.

Thane: Yet another incident of molestation was reported at the Thane civil hospital on Wednesday within a span of almost a month after two such incidents.A 35-year-old housewife was allegedly molested by a helper from the hospital, while she was standing near the paediatric ward on Wednesday evening. The woman complained about the alleged accused to the hospital staff following which he was arrested.“The woman was accompanied by her two children to the hospital that evening. The accused, Manoj Manpe, touched her inappropriately when she was standing near the paediatric ward. She then complained about Manpe to the nurses around, who later informed us. We then arrested him from the hospital in the night. Manpe, who was initially given one-day police custody was granted judicial custody by the magistrate court on Friday,” said Mandar Dharmadhikari, senior inspector of Thane Nagar police station.Hospital authorities said that Manpe had been working in the hospital since the past six years and there were no complaints about him before. He was a helper in the paediatric ward and was on contract basis under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).Officials from the hospital said that they will be installing CCTV cameras at the spot where the crime occurred as it was previously not under surveillance. Also, that are still waiting for sanctions of security personnel.“While we have cameras installed in most parts of the hospital, we will be installing a CCTV camera soon at the spot where the incident occurred on Wednesday. We have already sent two proposals asking for security guards for the hospital and are awaiting their sanction,” said Dr Sangita Makode, additional civil surgeon at the hospital.
