Thane: Two bikers killed in railway mishap

THANE: Two unidentified bike-borne men were killed after they were knocked down by a speeding mail express train at Diva level crossing Monday morning. The men had reportedly ducked under the level crossing gate that was shut for road traffic.The incident happened around 11am near the Diva level crossing gate. It is learnt that the victims had borrowed the bike from a native and were on their way to Diva east for some work. A case of accidental death was being registered with the police. The duo wanted to cross over to the other side of the station, but were reportedly got impatient as the gate was shut for a long time and decided to cross over the busy tracks notwithstanding the busy railway traffic passing on the lines.The boys had hardly driven out on the tracks when they noticed a speeding express train coming in their way, but by the time they could move, the train had already hit them killing them on the spot.The Diva railway police rushed to the spot and admitted them to the nearest hospital that declared them dead on arrival.
