2 arrested for smuggling leopard skin granted bail by sessions court

THANE: Two alleged poachers, who were arrested by the crime branch for smuggling leopard skin , were granted bail by the sessions court last week.The duo , Vishal Dhanraj and Sachin Mhatre, were granted bail by Kalyan sessions judge AAA Shaikh, on certain conditions to abide by.The duo was held by the crime branch unit-3 on April 19, 2018 at Kolegaon.The police had a tip-off that the accused were carrying leopard skin to be sold illegally. They wanted to sell the skin reportedly at a cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh. According to FIR, the leopard was hunted by the two other accused, who gave the skin to one of the arrested men to be sold in the illegal market, but was caught. He stated that one accused was already out on bail. The duo was told to furnish a bond of Rs 15,000 and mark attendance with cops every Saturday and that they are expected to cooperate with the the investigating agency as and when called.The police had a tip-off that the accused were carrying leopard skin to be sold illegally.

He stated that one accused was already out on bail.
