FYJC first merit list out, Thane colleges claim 60% seats taken

THANE: As round one of the first year junior college (FYJC) admission wrapped up on Wednesday evening, academicians from renowned junior colleges in the lake city claimed that around 60% seats have already been filled. In the first list itself I was allotted this college. It seems like students do not want to wait for the other lists and don’t want to take risk for the fear of getting into a less-renowned institute. Whereas, 62.5%, which is around 200 seats out of 320 have been claimed in M H High School in the science stream.Dinesh Joshi from the Centralized Admission Process Committee said, “This year, as far as city colleges are concerned, around 60% of the seats have already been claimed. As compared to last year’s first merit list, experts said that this time lesser seats would be up for grabs for the remaining consecutive three lists as many students have completed the procedure and secured admission in the college of their choice.Out of 360 intake, 224 seats in commerce stream have been allotted in the first merit list at K G Joshi Bedekar College of Arts and Commerce.
