KALYAN: In the sixth major accident due to potholes in a month, a 40-year-old Kalyan disaster management team official sustained serious injuries after his bike skidded due to potholes in Nandivali area of Kalyan in the early hours of Saturday.Kalyan’s potholes have claimed five lives in the last one month. He slammed the KDMC and MSRDC for the poor condition of roads.He asked them to fix the potholes without looking at jurisdictions. Police said Vilas Dalal was returning home after work around 1 am when he lost balance as his bike hit one of the potholes. Hospital sources said he is out of danger.Following the spate of accidents due to potholes, PWD minister Eknath Shinde, who is also Thane guardian minister, visited several areas along with KDMC chief Govind Bodke and MSRDC officials to inspect potholes-filling work.
