“We have vacated Murliwala building, which houses 16 flats and six shops,” said civic official Ganesh Shimpi. ULHASNAGAR: A 40-year-old woman died and two of her family members suffered minor injuries after a slab fell into her second-floor flat at Murliwala building in Ulhasnagar on Sunday evening. The building was constructed in 1995.A civic official said flooring work was on in the third-floor flat when a portion of it fell on Leena Gangwani. “Now, a structural audit of the building will be done to ascertain if it is safe.”Civic officials said many buildings constructed in Ulhasnagar in 1994-95 were made using inferior quality of sand. There have been cases of many these buildings crashing, causing fatalities.
