Constable held one year after 'second wife' goes missing

THANE: A 47-year-old constable attached to the Thane Central Jail has been arrested on charges of kidnapping a 33-year-old woman and wrongfully confining her. "A missing person complaint was filed at the Mumbra police station on July 28, 2017. The police have launched a search for the woman, who was pregnant when she went missing last year.The constable, Arun Shelar, had married the woman and asked her to abort when she was five months pregnant, said the police. The woman did not return and after a week the complainant started making enquiries, but in vain.
