Cops warn of stern action if youths found taking ‘Kiki’ challenge in city

THANE: The traffic police department’s stern warning against anyone performing the dangerous dance stunt in the popular ‘Kiki Challenge’ has helped prevent any untoward incident from taking place. “It is an extremely dangerous challenge. The dance challenge has taken the social media by storm and many have tried performing this dangerous stunt.Traffic officials took to social media to announce the warnings as teenagers and youth had taken fancy to the online video. In the video the singer steps out of his car, which is moving in slow motion, and does a sudden dance jig. The driver who steps out of the car for the dance could fall on the road.

The driver who steps out of the car for the dance could fall on the road. After the dance he is suppose to get into the moving car as well. If he or she is not able to do so and lose control of the car then the vehicle can possibly ram into something. There have been such incidents abroad where people have got hurt while trying to perform the stunt. To avoid any such incidents, we have sent out warnings on the social media and said that those found violating the law will be booked under various sections of the motor vehicle act and will be charged a fine of Rs 1,000. The accused could be liable for two years imprisonment,” said DCP (traffic) Amit Kale.Last week, the railway police had nabbed a trio who filmed their stunts while standing on the footboard of a speeding train.Some youth who were keen on trying out the danger stunt on the street said they changed their mind after reading the warning by the police on social media.It is an extremely dangerous challenge.
