THANE: The city police nabbed a trio from a hideout in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh UP ) four months after a 26-year-old man was killed by them.Jamil alias Angrez Nashibdar, a resident of Uttar Shiv in Dahisar-Mori area, was found dead near a tea stall on April 10 and mystery prevailed about his assailants. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) D S Swamy said, the police investigation and information trickled in about his missing friends, who collected scrap material and sold it to dealers. The police launched a manhunt and zeroed in on Jagnarayan Verma (29), Nandram Verma (23) and Pramod Verma (23), all residents of Balrampur district in UP while another accused is believed to be absconding. It is learnt that the quartet hatched a plan to eliminate Jamil as he threatened to expose their theft of scrap material.The police said that the accused were into collection of scrap material and sold them to dealers. They also loaded and unloaded the same in Uttarshiv region of the area.On April 10, Jamil saw the arrested trio stealing scrap from a vehicle that was near a weighing machine. “Jamil saw two men in the truck throwing the scrap material to the other two men. He protested and threatened to alert the owner, which scared the accused, who decided to eliminate him. They were aware that the owner frequented a nearby tea stall owned by Jamil’s brother,” said the DCP.They kept a watch on his movements and spotted him sleeping outside on a metal bed, while his two brothers sleeping at a distance. “The accused, armed with a crow bar, found that Jamil was asleep outside the tea stall and attacked him while he was in his sleep and escaped,” said the cop.The deceased, Jamil, saw two men in the truck throwing the scrap material to the other two men.
