Thane students celebrate Teacher’s Day with zeal

THANE: Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasum in Thane city.“Our class X and XII students performed a musical show dedicated to the teachers. But on occasions like Guru Purnima and Teacher’s day I am reminded of the special bond I share with every child,” said a city-based school teacher. Revathi Shrinivasan, Principal of Smt Sulochanadevi Singhania School said, “We had a team building and collaboration workshop outside the school premises. — Avani Ghangurde Children made personalized individual greeting cards based on one positive trait that they admire of the person,” said Shilpa Jejurkar, Principal of Arunodaya Public School.While many are arranging indoor events and are indulging in the traditional practice of role reversal where students become the teachers, a few schools are taking the students outdoors and making a day out of it.

This was a good bonding exercise for the teachers and students.” Although some teachers may feel that their profession is being neglected today and it has lost its initial value, it is on this day that they often go home teary eyed due to the million praises and love bestowed upon them by their students.“Sometimes I cannot help but dislike my profession. But on occasions like Guru Purnima and Teacher’s day I am reminded of the special bond I share with every child,” said a city-based school teacher. — Avani Ghangurde
