Surprise checks at centres before board exams

MUMBAI: After the state board's internal inquiry found Mumbra's Kiddies Paradise, the school where SSC papers were leaked, to be flouting exam rules, the education department has decided to conduct surprise checks at institutions ahead of board exams. "A committee will look at the option for SSC exams too," said the official. "We can't check all schools but to ensure that all infrastructure and employment rules for staff are followed, we will make surprise visits. Last year after a series of HSC paper leaks, the board had introduced sealed question paper packets of 25 which were required to be opened inside the exam hall.
