TMC bypolls after BJP corporator Suvarna Kamble post disqualified

THANE: The municipal administration has written to the state election commission requesting bypolls for seat 15A which has been vacated after the post of sitting BJP corporator Suvarna Kamble was deemed invalid. “After Kamble’s disqualification we sent a report to the state election commission seeking a date for by-elections to the seat,” informed an official. Kamble had contested 15A ward from the Wagle Estate area reserved for a woman from the Scheduled Caste but failed to submit the certificate within six months.Later on, she herself withdrew her appeal for a stay following which the corporation deemed her post as invalid, informed an official.
