Residents question netas over alleged scams, taxpayers’ money

Whiles netas managed to expose some violations, alert residents also did their part in uncovering some inadequacies of the administration recently.The residents have now put out a message, though in individual capacities, that they will not entertain further scams and intebd to sent across a strong message to the netas to buckle up.A motley group of activists assembled under the banner of the Thane Matadata Jagran Manch have planned a peaceful protest next week where they will symbolically pray to the goddess for the welfare of the society. Another activist from the city has also sought information under the RTI about road repair expenses by the administration after written queries proved futile.Meanwhile, the opposition NCP and the BJP not to be seen siding with the alleged instances of misappropriation have also stepped up the heat on the ruling Shiv Sena for keeping mum over the alleged irregularities which were brought to to the notice of the House as well recently.The parties have openly questioned the Shiv Sena for allegedly aiding with the contractor who has been accused of fudging bills in a garden makeover project.
