THANE: Investigators probing the fake degree racket for procuring pharmacist license have revealed that the arrested director of the para medical and pharmacy college in Thane was earlier booked twice for cheating connected with the college.It was on Saturday that the crime branch arrested four, including the director Dr Purushottam Tahilramani of Deep's paramedical and pharmacy college, Kolshet road for issuing bogus certificates of SSC and HSC to the four pharmacist who procured degree of a Rajasthan based university and set up the medical shops across city.A police officer said, "After we delved in deeper, it was found that Tahilramani in 2007 was booked by the Kapurbawdi police for cheating and issuing bachelor of physiotherapy degrees in 2007 without having proper permissions. Again in 2012, the Kasarwadavli police booked Tahilramani and his son as he changed the area of the college which was 4000 sq ft and changed it 12000 sq ft and 14 other norms to secure permissions from Nashik Medical University to establish the college and has secured anticipatory bail, the other legalities of this cases will also be probed."The police said that they have secured the relevant legal papers of these additional two cases and accordingly it help them nail the accused who is reportedly indulging malpractices in the field of education.The police also added that some of such medical shops are on their radar accordingly, the investigation is in progress and the other links of the racket is been probed."It is pertinent that the some of the medical shops are indulging in malpractices to secure license, if they have not done anything wrong they need not worry, but if they have, then there is definitely a reason to worry,” said a senior officer.
