THANE: A day-long dharna was held by a group of Thaneites along the Eastern Express highway to demand toll waiver for vehicles registered with the Thane city RTO.The protest was led by a BJP corporator. "We will wait for a month and if no action is taken by the leaders then within two month's we will have another protest." "We only want the state to implement its earlier order which sought the exemption of toll to all residents living in the five-km radius of the toll post.Minister in-charge of MSRDC Eknath Shinde , who heads this department and is also the guardian minister of Thane, has done very little to give relief to Thaneites from toll,'' said BJP man Bharat Chavan.
