THANE: Three residents of Bhiwandi were recently sentenced to life imprisonment by the district sessions court following their conviction in a case of gang rape of a 19-year-old newlywed in 2014.The court made clear that the three would remain in prison for the remainder of their natural life.District judge SA Sinha held Naveen Bagade (43), Santosh Shelke (22) and Rajkumar Sahani (29) guilty while acquitting four people for want of sufficient evidence.Prosecutor Vandana Jadhav said the victim, a resident of Uttar Pradesh , was visiting her father-in-law in Bhiwandi to see the Ganesh festival in 2014.At midnight on August 16, some persons broke into their home.
