Thane: Railway cops, activist help reunite boy with family

The boy told them he stayed along the railway tracks at Kalwa but could not pinpoint his address.Police contacted a local journalist, who alerted Siddhesh Desai , a railway activist from Kalwa, and shared the photograph of the minor.
She said she had no idea how the boy could have landed up at Diva station.Meanwhile, railway police said they will check if the boy was lured by a stranger or someone involved in child-trafficking.
THANE: Timely action by an alert team of railway police and an activist helped reunite a 3-year old boy from Kalwa with his family after he had strayed away from home and landed up at Diva station, nearly five km away.The boy was found loitering on the platform by railway police at Diva station late on Thursday evening, when a female constable approached him.
The mother was taken to Thane railway police and reunited with her son, who could not hold back his tears.The boy's mother said she did not suspect anything amiss as it was common for her son to play in the neighbourhood till late and then return home.
A case was not registered with police.
