Schools ensure seating, security, medical as SSC exams begin today

"We have about 1,090 students appearing for their SSC exams from our school and some of them are bound to be distressed. The schools have even doubled up on their security levels during the examination to avoid any cases of paper leaks. "We have 250 students appearing for their SSC exams in our school and we ensured that their seating numbers were allocated and marked before they started arriving to check it on Thursday," said Rupa Dey, principal of Shreerang Vidyalay. The papers will be unsealed in the presence of a police official, a teacher, an exam conductor and a student only after all the SSC students are seated in the exam hall. We have also kept a special room for handicapped students on the ground floor to avoid any inconvenience," added Dey.

THANE: As many as 1.16 lakh students across Thane district will appear for the SSC exam across the 320 centres here this year as per the new syllabus, while 5,227 will be giving their exams under the old syllabus.From ensuring that the students' seating numbers were allocated to the school classrooms and jotted down on the bulletin board to rechecking and stocking up on medical and basic facilities, school authorities were seen all set for the D-day one day before the exam itself."We have 250 students appearing for their SSC exams in our school and we ensured that their seating numbers were allocated and marked before they started arriving to check it on Thursday," said Rupa Dey, principal of Shreerang Vidyalay."We have also stocked up on water and medical supplies and drawn up a plan in which each floor will have an additional supervisor to meet any of the students' needs during the exam. The papers will be unsealed in the presence of a police official, a teacher, an exam conductor and a student only after all the SSC students are seated in the exam hall. They will then be counted and distributed," said R J Rajput, principal of MH High School.Some schools have designated a few teachers and counselors to make the atmosphere less stressful."We have about 1,090 students appearing for their SSC exams from our school and some of them are bound to be distressed. We have asked our counselors and teachers to give them an emotion boost," said Janhavi Rai, principal of St. Xaviers School and Jr College.
