36-year-old man gets 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment for attempt to murder

THANE: A 36-year-old man has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment by the district court for attempt to murder .
Considering the nature of the offence, the accused deserves to be convicted with proper sentence of imprisonment and fine,” the judge said.

The accused, Rajaram Pawar, was convicted by district judge P P Jadav and also fined Rs 10,000.Prosecutor Vivek Kadu told the court that the accused was married to the victim, Lata, for more than 12 years.
The couple worked as labourers and had three children.The victim had in the past complained to her mother about Rajaram ill-treating her as he suspected her of having an affair.On July 25, 2016, while the victim was asleep, the accused stabbed her several times.
