As this RTE scheme was set up to provide children from the lower economic groups to secure free admission in good schools in their locality, this situation have left education activist as well as officials baffled. While the Schools had put up the list of all the students selected under the RTE on their notice boards and sent SMS to every student's parents informing them about their child's admission status their efforts seem to have fallen flat yet again. On realising that many parents of the selected students had not received their confirmation SMS due to a technical glitch, the education department resent the SMSs and extended the admission dates. While officials here are relieved that the number of these defaulters has decreased in comparison to the first selection round, they are still unsure why these students' parents have missed out on this last step to get their child the education they have wanted to give them."We have tried our best to keep each parents informed and involved in the process.
