Maharashtra Day celebration at Happy Streets this Sunday

THANE: Happy Streets participants have a reason to rejoice this Sunday as they are gearing up to mark the historic Maharashtra Day on Sunday, on the eve of the state's Foundation Day. "What could be the better place than the non-motorable stretch to skate," said a budding skater Ritesh Gupta.The TMC , Thane Traffic dept have bought Happy Streets to the lake city, which is supported by TOI and powered by Vijay Group and Suraksha Realty. Football, skating, hula hoop and cycling have become instant hit and no one is going to miss the privilege being on the traffic free road. The event will have adventure activities, yoga, zumba, dance, music, art, paint, fun and games among hordes of programmes. Elders have formed a major chunk to encourage freshers to sing so that stage fear could be done away with.

A host of innovative events have been planned to celebrate the special day.Vijay Suraksha Art Zone will have a special workshop to teach the kids and their parents the exotic art of famous Warli Painting to commemorate the rich heritage of Maharashtrian culture. The artists will be on their toes to attend each and every participant at the workshop. Besides the workshop, fun and games will also be on offer to usher in the momentous occasion.Apart from this, the game of archery is back to get the participants engaged in hitting the bull's eye. A large pledge board has been arranged to provide the revelers expressing their view on road safety messages. Elders have formed a major chunk to encourage freshers to sing so that stage fear could be done away with."We make new friends and try hand on all events," said 16-year-old Satish Mane. The event will have adventure activities, yoga, zumba, dance, music, art, paint, fun and games among hordes of programmes. Salsa dance will be yet another attraction. Marathon runners will be offered tips at the fitness arena put up by Joints-n-Motion.
