Thane RTO cop booked for cheating, rape

He has been booked under Section 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.According to the FIR, the woman and the accused fell in love in 2010 when they stayed in Solapur. Thereafter, the woman and Kamble shifted to Gothivali village where he made her sign an affidavit claiming it was their marriage document. But, Kamble told her to abort the child by revealing that they were not yet married. When she refused to undergo abortion, Kamble threatened her and ended the relationship. Thereafter, Kamble convinced her to divorce her husband and promised to marry her.

Thane: The Rabale police has registered a cheating and rape case against an inspector working with the Thane Regional Transport Office (RTO), after a 29-year-old woman from Gothivali village in Airoli, with whom he was in a love relationship for seven years, alleged that he had sexually exploited her after pretending to have married her and dumped her after she became pregnant.Accused Vijay Kamble, 29, hails from Solapur and is currently working as an inspector at Thane RTO. He has been booked under Section 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.According to the FIR, the woman and the accused fell in love in 2010 when they stayed in Solapur. In June 2015, her mother got her married to another man. Thereafter, Kamble convinced her to divorce her husband and promised to marry her. She divorced her husband in March 2016. Thereafter, the woman and Kamble shifted to Gothivali village where he made her sign an affidavit claiming it was their marriage document. Thereafter, she conceived a child. But, Kamble told her to abort the child by revealing that they were not yet married. When she refused to undergo abortion, Kamble threatened her and ended the relationship. On June 13, she lodged a police complaint against Kamble. The victim has alleged that the local police is shielding the accused as he is an inspector with Thane RTO.When contacted Senior inspector Pradeep Tidar said, "Our team had gone to his native place Barshi in Solapur to arrest him."
