Mulund train bomb blast case: Saquib Nachan released from jail

They framed many innocent youths as well," Nachan told TOI.Nachan had surrendered in 2002 Mumbai Central, 2003 Vile Parle and 2003 Mulund train blast cases. Some locals feel that 'Saquib Bhai' was framed in the case since he was doing a lot of social work. Termed as the mastermind by the prosecution, the court found him guilty of illegally possessing an AK-56 rifle and sentenced him to 10 years jail term last year.Nachan has three children, two sons and a daughter. Nachan was released five months before the actual term.

Nachan was released five months before the actual term. The period was given him as remission for his good behavior. "I want to be with my family and focus on the business," said the 57-year-old convict after reaching home.Hundreds of people, from the apadgah village, thronged to meet him. Well wishers including old men, youths and children greeted 'Saquib Bhai', hugged and shook hands. "I was framed in this case by the police. They framed many innocent youths as well," Nachan told TOI.Nachan had surrendered in 2002 Mumbai Central, 2003 Vile Parle and 2003 Mulund train blast cases. While 14 people were killed, over a hundred were left injured in these three blasts. All the cases were clubbed together and tried under the now-defunct prevention of terrorism act (POTA). Termed as the mastermind by the prosecution, the court found him guilty of illegally possessing an AK-56 rifle and sentenced him to 10 years jail term last year.Nachan has three children, two sons and a daughter. Some locals feel that 'Saquib Bhai' was framed in the case since he was doing a lot of social work. "I was booked in three murder cases in 2002 and have been acquitted in all the cases," added Nachan.Food was being prepared for the visitors and some locals and a youth was distributing sweets to everyone gathered outside Nachan's residence.
