He highlighted the challenges being faced by the Indian Air Force while undergoing modernisation and emphasised the need to smoothly absorb and operationalise the new assets. Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff, has stressed the strategic importance of the Indian Ocean Region and the significance of capability enhancement in the bases under the Southern Air Command. Later, he presented trophies to various stations and units of the Southern Air Command for their outstanding performance. Inaugurating the Commanders’ Conference of Southern Air Command at Akkulam here on Thursday, the Chief of Air Staff acknowledged the progress achieved in development of infrastructure towards induction of fighters and radars. The Chief of Air Staff reviewed the Air Defence System and its future development and exhorted the Commanders to continue to maintain high standards in all areas pertaining to operational preparedness.
