Acid attack accused held

The Neyyar Dam police on Thursday arrested one person in connection with the acid attack on a woman at Kuttichal. The accused allegedly plotted the attack after the victim turned down his marriage proposal, the police said. The accused allegedly threw acid on the victim while she was returning home after work on her two-wheeler. He was arrested in connection with the attack on a schoolteacher in Kuttichal on Tuesday. The police identified the accused as Sudheesh, alias Unni, of Paruthipally at Kuttichal.
