Body of woman found

The putrefying body of an unidentified woman was found beside a tree in a vacant plot of land near a bathing ghat at Vazhamuttam in the Thiruvallam police station limits on Friday afternoon. The body was spotted by a fisherman in a deserted place dotted by thickets around 3 p.m. The body was a few days old and it was too early to confirm whether it was that of Liga Skromane, a Latvian missing since March 14, without forensic tests, the police said. It would be removed for autopsy only after inquest on Saturday.
