Govt to help Lini’s family

Lini was one of the nurses who took care of Mohammed Sadik, the first victim of Nipah virus in Kozhikode district. The association also urged the State government to extend financial aid to her family. It urged the State government to provide job to a family member of Lini. She had contacted Lini’s family over phone.

The State government will take all measures to give adequate protection and social security to the family of Lini Sajeesh, the nursing staff at the Perambra taluk hospital who died after she contracted the Nipah virus infection from patients. The matter would be discussed at the Cabinet meeting, Health Minister K.K. Shylaja has said. Lini was one of the nurses who took care of Mohammed Sadik, the first victim of Nipah virus in Kozhikode district. She had contacted Lini’s family over phone. A release issued by the association here said an educational package for her children would be announced later. It urged the State government to provide job to a family member of Lini. The association also urged the State government to extend financial aid to her family. Steps should be taken to provide personal protective equipment to the staff and nursing students in hospitals and nearby areas affected by the virus, it said.
