Kerala: 5-year-old boy saves two friends from drowning

KASARAGOD (KERALA): A five-year-old boy has become an overnight hero here after he saved two kids from drowning in a pond on Saturday evening.Three kids were playing near a pond in Mallam Sasihitlu of Muliyar village when their ball fell into it. Basim Saman (5) and Abdul Shamil (5) tried to catch hold of the ball and fell in the 20-foot-deep pond.It is then that Zainul Abideen , the UKG student, took a small wooden log and asked his friends to try to hold it and managed to pull them out.Now Abideen - the son of Zainuddeen and asthma - has become a hero in that area.While Kasaragodu Dy SP MV Sukumarn congratulated the boy at his residence, Mallam Ward Development Committee also felicitated the boy.
