598 people in 10 relief camps in district

As many as 598 people are still in 10 relief camps opened after waterlogging in parts of the district. No holidaysAll employees involved in relief activities in the district have been directed to report for work during the holidays beginning Wednesday. District Collector K. Vasuki said the decision came in the wake of a government order seeking officials’ cooperation in ensuring that relief activities were not affected by the holidays. Five camps are open in Thiruvananthapuram taluk which was affected the most by the waterlogging. Two camps are functioning in Nedumangad and one each in Neyyattinkara and Varkala taluks.
