Commercial space at KSRTC terminal: Fresh tenders invited

Thiruvananthapuram: Fresh tenders have been invited for leasing out the remaining commercial space at KSRTC terminal at Thampanoor bus station by Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation ( KTDFC ). There had been no demand or inquiry on the space proposed for the open food court on the third floor in the previous tenders. Meanwhile, a similar space reserved as a closed food court was allotted to the lottery department for their office space,” the official added. Only less than 10% of space now remain unoccupied in the building.It is the eleventh tender invited by KTDFC, which was entrusted with the construction of the building on BOT basis. We hope that after the theatre starts functioning, there will be demand for the food court area.

Thiruvananthapuram: Fresh tenders have been invited for leasing out the remaining commercial space at KSRTC terminal at Thampanoor bus station by Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation ( KTDFC ). Only less than 10% of space now remain unoccupied in the building.It is the eleventh tender invited by KTDFC, which was entrusted with the construction of the building on BOT basis. According to a KTDFC official, the remaining space to be rented out in the building is viable for commercial establishments, as the area proposed as office spaces have been rented out.It was following a directive to government agencies and departments functioning in private buildings to shift their offices to KSRTC terminal that KTDFC received a good response in previous tenders.As per the new tender, less than 10,000 sq ft remains to be leased out in the building which includes 3,904.58 sq ft in 14 units in the basement, 2,624.58 sq ft area in five units in first floor and 2,474.80 sq ft in the third floor, which is a space proposed as an open food court.The units in the basement were proposed as a warehouse for shops functioning in the building to stock the goods.“Many business firms who have acquired space in the building are yet to complete the interior work in the shops. Once the shops are opened, they may demand space in the basement for storing the goods,” said an official from KTDFC.“KSFDC has proposed to construct an executive lounge along with the theatre on the third floor. There had been no demand or inquiry on the space proposed for the open food court on the third floor in the previous tenders. We hope that after the theatre starts functioning, there will be demand for the food court area. Meanwhile, a similar space reserved as a closed food court was allotted to the lottery department for their office space,” the official added.
