Thiruvananthapuram: City police recorded arrest of two men in separate cases for sexually abusing their underage daughters on Wednesday. One of the arrests was recorded at Karamana police station and the other at Poonthura police station.At Karamana, police have also arrested Saneesh (28), who was in a relationship with the girl, for sexually exploiting her. The survivor in the case is aged 14. The police have withheld the identity of the girl’s father, a 48-year old man, on account of protecting the identity of the girl.According to the police, Saneesh sexually exploited the girl in April last year. Recently, her father learned about their relationship and questioned her.On January 8, when the girl’s mother was not at home, the man brought up the matter again and forcefully subjected her to unnatural sex.Later, the girl shared her harrowing experience with the headmistress of the school in which she was studying. The headmistress promptly alerted the police.Karamana sub-inspector R S Sreekanth said that Saneesh used to stalk her persistently on her way to and from the school and succeeded in winning her affection. He then took her to his residence and molested her.The girl’s elder sister is pursuing higher education outside the state. The girl has told the police that she had witnessed her father behaving inappropriately with her elder sister too.The girl reiterated the same statement before the childline authorities and local magistrate too. However, since the elder girl was not in town, the police have not recorded her statement.The police have booked both men with relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children fromSexual Offences) Act. They were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.At Poonthura, a 42-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing his 12-year-old daughter. He was arrested based on the complaint filed by the girl’s mother.According to the complaint, the father had been touching the girl inappropriately. He was booked with sections 7, 8, 11 and 12 of POCSO Act following which he was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.Three days ago on Sunday, Museum police had arrested three persons, including two men and a woman, on charges of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl.The woman accused in the case happened to be the mother of the girl and she was charged for facilitating the crime. One of the arrested men was the woman’s live-in partner. The two were members of an online sex racket and had been arrested in the past too for immoral trafficking.According to the police, one more man was to be caught in connection with the case. He is suspected to be hiding in Palakkad district.Further investigation into the case would be handed over to Vattappara police as the crime occurred at Kallayam near Vattappara where the accused resided.The complaint was filed by childline authorities, who learned about the sexual abuse from the girl’s teachers, following which Museum police made the arrests.
