Schools told to maintain ICT equipment

In case of multimedia projectors, power cables must be disconnected and the projector has to be covered. All power cables and batteries of the ICT equipment must be removed, to avoid damages due to possible lightning. USB speakers also must be kept safely without any possibility of dust or moisture getting in. Placing silica gels inside the camera bags will protect the camera from moistures. Special care has to be taken not to keep any heavy object on the laptop.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala infrastructure and technology for education ( KITE ) has asked schools to ensure that the laptops provided to them should not be left idle during summer vacation, and have to be switched on and battery must be recharged at least once in two weeks.KITE has issued a detailed circular to the schools regarding how to maintain the information and communication technology (ICT) devices that have been supplied to school as part of the high-tech school project, as leaving them without care and unattended during holidays would damage the expensive devices.Laptops must be properly shut down and kept in the bag after removing the power adaptor. Special care has to be taken not to keep any heavy object on the laptop. In case of multimedia projectors, power cables must be disconnected and the projector has to be covered. Whenever the DSLR camera is not in use, it has to be ensured that no dust, moisture, salt content and sand come in contact with the camera.
