Man kills nephew during drunken brawl

On Friday night both were drunk and allegedly had a fight which ended up in the tragedy,” said the SI.Vinod, who was seriously injured on his head, was immediately taken to Government Taluk Hospital in Chirayankeezhu. But he succumbed to injuries soon. His body was handed over to the family on Saturday evening after conducting postmortem examination.“Ashokan, who fled the spot after the incident, was taken into custody from a spot 2km away from his home on Saturday morning,” the SI said.According to Jayan G, ward member of Guruvihar where the crime took place, alcoholism had spoiled the lives of both the victim and the accused.Besides alcoholism, another common factor in the lives of both the men was that their wives left them after they could no longer suffer the drunken atrocities of their spouses.
