Thiruvananthapuram: An accused in a murder-attempt case was apprehended by the Interpol in United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) and was handed over to Venjaramoodu police on Friday. Baiju was presented before the court and remanded in judicial custody. A police team led by DCRB DSP K Anilkumar, Venjaramoodu inspector S Jayakumar and city police CPO Manikandan received Jishnu Baiju (24) in custody.According to Jayakumar, Baiju was the second accused in the case pertaining to armed assault on Wayanad native Amal Raj. “On December 24, 2016, Baiju along with a few others broke into the rented house of Raj at Vamanapuram and brutally assaulted him because he refused to give protection money to Jishnu’s gang. Raj had sustained grave stab injuries in the melee,” he said.
