THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala created 9.64 crores of man days under MGNREGA scheme during 2018-19. The centre had allotted 7 crore man days for the state during the fiscal. Kerala could generate 2.64 crore more man days than the allotted number. In 2014-15, Kerala had recorded 77% in generation of man days.A total of 41,4138 families completed 100 days under employment guarantee scheme in the state. In 2014-15, only 98,648 families had got 100 days of employment. The state government has been giving Rs 1,000 as bonus to all families during Onam for completing 100 days of employment for the last two years.The Centre now owes state government dues worth Rs 3,354 crores. This year the Centre had to give Rs 2,615 crores and previous fiscal's dues was Rs 739 crores. The Centre has so far allotted only Rs 2,037 crores. LSG minister AC Moitheen had sent a letter to union minister for rural development Narendra Singh Tomar requesting allotment of remaining Rs 1316 crores however state is yet to get a positive response.
