Justice Shircy V granted bail to the woman and said the allegation against the mother is ‘strange, shocking, and unusual’.

The high court on Friday ordered the state police chief to constitute a special investigation team, preferably headed by a lady officer, to probe the allegation of sexual abuse of son by his mother at Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram.

Justice Shircy V granted bail to the woman and said the allegation against the mother is ‘strange, shocking, and unusual’. The court ordered police to investigate whether the case is a counterblast to the maintenance and custody applications filed before the family court by the mother much ahead of the registration of the FIR against the mother.

Police were also asked to file a report to on whether any action was taken on a complaint filed by the woman against her husband in October last year.

Further, the court said it finds it necessary to direct the state police chief to give instructions to all station house officers in the state to conduct a preliminary enquiry before registering an FIR when such unusual, unbelievable, inhuman, and wild allegations are raised, that too against a mother.
