KANNUR: The RSS ideology , which treats the religious minorities in the country as internal enemies, is dangerous to the inclusive culture of the country, safeguarded by democracy and secularism, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.Inaugurating a seminar, 'Future of democracy and secularism', organised as part of the State conference of the AISF, the students' wing of the CPI, here on Sunday, the chief minister said this ideology has actually been borrowed from Hitler, who treated Jews and Bolsheviks as internal enemies of Germany.During the BJP rule under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, there were attempts to infiltrate pro-RSS people into the judiciary, he alleged, adding that judiciary has a major role in protecting democracy and secularism.Pinarayi Vijayan also said in order to strengthen democracy, all sections of people in the country should have access to basic amenities, and also the constitutional institutions should be strengthened.Every citizen in the country has the right to follow the faiths of their choice, and they also have the right not to believe, said the chief minister, who added that they also have the right to have the food and lifestyle of their choice. Further, the protection of the minorities, including linguistic and cultural minorities, is of paramount importance in a democracy, observed the chief minister.At the same time, the steps being taken to protect mother tongue is not intended to neglect the linguistic minorities in the State, he said, adding that measures are also being taken in the State to make the mother tongue as the court language.Govt to take action against unrecognized educational institutionsLater, the chief minister has said the state government will take action against the educational institutions without recognition.Inaugurating the centenary memorial at Velloorillam LP School in Kannur district on Sunday, he also said when license is needed to open even a small tea shop, some educational institutions are functioning without any license and nobody has any idea as to what is being taught there or who all are teaching there.When action is taken against such institutions, the people will actually be happy and the government will go ahead with the action against them.
