A reminder to stay green

The poet urged the government to review its decision to reduce the safe distance limit from quarries to 50 metres. Poet Sugathakumari inaugurating a march by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad to the Assembly demanding that the government lift the concessions for mining . Inaugurating an Assembly march organised by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad here on Tuesday, she said the State could hope to achieve water security only if it managed to protect hills and wetlands. Meerabhai were among those who addressed the march.
