Trichy: Woraiyur police in Trichy city arrested a 23-year-old BPO employee for harassing a 22-year-old woman colleague in public for rejecting his proposal for love, here on Tuesday.N Manikandan, 23, from Woraiyur was held based on a complaint from the woman, a resident of Srirangam. He was produced in the court and lodged in jail. The woman alleged that he abused her in filthy language and slapped her on her face, besides threatening her with dire consequences.Regarding this, she lodged a complaint with Woraiyur police on Tuesday. According to her complaint, they worked in the same company in the city, On Monday, when she was returning home from work, Manikandan intercepted her opposite their office and picked up a quarrel with her due to his unrequited love. Police said that he was in love with her for the past year, but she refused to accept his love which infuriated Manikandan, resulting in the assault.Police have registered a case under three sections of IPC and four of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act.
