13 trucks used for illegal sand mining seized

The seized trucks were handed over to the respective police stations.tnn The team found nine trucks carrying sand illegally. According to Viralimalai police, the sand was stolen from Koraiyaaru River near Viralimalai.Similarly, revenue officials also seized two trucks and five bullock carts each at Arandhangi and Karaiyur regions for carrying sand illegally on Wednesday morning. They were seized and handed over to Viralimalai police. Trichy: Revenue officials have seized 13 sand-laden trucks and 10 bullock carts in three different incidents in Pudukottai district over the past two days, in a crackdown on illegal sand mining rackets.On Tuesday at Viralimalai, based on a tip-off, a team led by Iluppur revenue divisional officer Jeyabharathi conducted checks at three roads- Viralimalai to Pudukottai road, Viralimalai to Keeranur road and Viralimalai to Madurai road.
