Burglars loot six sovereigns of ornaments from house

Trichy: Burglars broke into a house in Devaraya Nagar in the city and stole six sovereigns of gold ornaments on Tuesday.The victim S Chandrasekar, 33, went to visit his parents who were admitted at a private hospital in Trichy, when the burglary took place.According to his complaint, he had locked his house on Sunday noon and returned home early on Monday. The miscreants had attempted to break open the bureau, but were unsuccessful.Thuvakudi police have registered a case. KK Nagar police visited the spot and conducted an investigation.In another incident, a house break-in was averted after a neighbour raised an alarm at VOC Nagar in Thuvakudi near Thiruverumbur on Trichy- Thanjavur National Highway on Monday night.According to a complaint from Sekar, 62, burglars made an unsuccessful attempt to rob his house.

The burglars heard his cries and immediately fled the scene.The neighbour informed Sekar who rushed back home and found that his valuables were intact.
