Thief who stole from bikes held

The police said that he lifted Rs 16,500 from a bike in Thillai Nagar on February 2, 2018. A complaint was registered with the Thillai Nagar police.The police said that they recovered Rs 35,000 from him as the remainder was spent by him. He was produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody last night. Trichy: The city police arrested a thief on Wednesday who was adept at lifting cash kept in a motorcycle parked on the roads in Trichy in the late hours.A special team of Thillai Nagar police apprehended A Sadik Ali, 47 from Rajagiri in Viralimalai in Pudukkottai district on suspicion when he was loitering near Thillai Nagar 10th cross street on Wednesday afternoon.On interrogation, he confessed to having stolen cash from two bikes in Trichy. The owner of the bike, S Angamuthu from Thiruvalarcholai in Trichy had already lodged a complaint with the Thillai Nagar police.In the other theft he was he was involved in, he lifted Rs 20,000 from a bike owned by S Sivakumar parked near Adyar Ananda Bhavan on Sashtri road in Trichy on June 1.
