Trichy: Alliance Air will commence weekly service every Saturday between Trichy and Chennai from July 21 onwards. “Jet Airways will be cancelling the remaining two Chennai bound flights from August onwards, citing operational reasons,” the airport director told TOI. The flight will take off from Chennai at 6.50pm and arrive Trichy at 8pm. The same flight will leave Trichy at 8.30pm and reach Chennai at 9.25pm, officials said.Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India, currently has daily service between Chennai and Trichy- the flight reaches Trichy at 8.15am and departs for Chennai at 8.40am.Airport director K Gunasekaran confirmed that Alliance Air will be launching the weekly service to Chennai.IndiGo currently operates four daily services and Jet Airways two services between Trichy and Chennai.Earlier, Jet Airways was operating three services to Chennai from Trichy, but cancelled the night service from July 1.
