more-in Security has been stepped up in Pudukottai town and elsewhere in the district in connection with the visit Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday. Mr. Purohit will arrive at Tiruchi by Rockfort Express from Chennai in the early hours on Friday. Thereafter, he would leave for Pudukottai by road where he is expected to take part in an awareness programme of Swachh Bharat Mission in the town. The Governor would receive petitions from the public in the afternoon and head back to Tiruchi in the night, said official sources. Police personnel in the district have braced up for the visit of the Governor by making detailed security arrangements for this purpose. Police sources said in addition to mobilising the entire Pudukottai district police strength, manpower has been augmented by drafting personnel from various districts in the Central zone. Route bandobust along the Tiruchi - Pudukottai highway would be put in place as part of the security arrangement monitored by a senior police officer, said the sources. Anti-sabotage teams have also been deployed in Pudukottai as part of the security arrangement. The sources said the Governor will visit Thanjavur on Saturday where he would take part in the convocation at the Thanjavur Tamil University and return back to Tiruchi in the evening.
