Chain-snatching, two house break-ins in a single day

After a couple of days stay there, Mary returned to her house on Thursday morning only to find the jewellery kept in the house stolen. The Golden Rock police have registered a case.Another burglary occurred at the residence of S Sathiya Sundari, 38, from Kuttyambarakaranpatti near K K Nagar. According to her complaint, on return from work on Wednesday, she found the back door of her house broken and 1.5 sovereign gold chain stolen from the house. The city police also received complaints of two house break-ins of a similar pattern on the same day.J Philips John Of Arc from Iruthayapuram was walking on Mela street at 6.20pm when a couple of men on a motorcycle snatched her five sovereign gold chain and fled the scene.The woman lodged a complaint with the Palakkarai police on Thursday night and a case was registered after a preliminary investigation. Police valued the jewellery at Rs 50,000.The house break-ins that occurred in Golden Rock and Airport police station limits also came to light on Thursday.According to a complaint filed by A Aalin Mary, 46, from railway colony in Golden Rock locality, she went to her daughter’s house at Somarasampettai leaving her house locked in the morning on September 18. After a couple of days stay there, Mary returned to her house on Thursday morning only to find the jewellery kept in the house stolen.
