Uyyakondan canal revival drive in Trichy: Walking track to be developed near Kulimikkarai

TRICHY: Citizen for Uyyakondan (CFU), a movement aimed at rejuvenating the centuries-old Uyyakondan canal , completed their 37th consecutive cleanup week along the canal on Sunday.Today they cleared weeds shrouding the left bank of the Chola-era canal near Kulimikkarai road – a 300-metre stretch between Sivaprakasam road and language martyrs’ memorial on Kulimikkarai road was taken up for cleaning.More than 75 medical college students and postal department officials participated, and close to a tonne of inert waste was removed.
