Jayalalithaa dreamt of slum-free T.N.: Panneerselvam

The State government had been executing welfare programs and development works planned by Jayalalithaa. Speaking at the inaugural of two-day ‘Saral Vizha’ at Suruli falls, he said that the waterfall was unique in several ways and the water not only contained minerals but also had medicinal value. For instance, the government was contemplating implementation of road project between Sakkaluthu and Cumbum Mettu as it would benefit people here.

Stating that a total of 12.5 lakh dwelling were identified in slums across Tamil Nadu, he said that under the Vision 2023, the former Chief Minister wanted to provide good housing for all. Efforts were being taken to provide housing to all and the identified beneficiaries would get their homes in the next five years. “The government’s objective was to fulfil our late leader’s wish,” he said. Speaking at the inaugural of two-day ‘Saral Vizha’ at Suruli falls, he said that the waterfall was unique in several ways and the water not only contained minerals but also had medicinal value. He further said that Theni had elected and sent two stalwarts to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly – MGR and Jayalalithaa – who had later become Chief Ministers of the State and “lived with the people and for the people even after their demise”. As true followers of the late leaders, he said, those running the AIADMK government marched forward in fulfilling their dreams.
