Trichy: A motorcycle-borne man snatched a gold chain from a 68-year-old woman who was riding pillion, near the head post office in the city on Wednesday.The incident took place when Chandrika, 68, a resident of Therespuram in Tuticorin district, was in the city ans was travelling pillion with her relative.A man on a motorcycle followed them from behind and got close enough and snatched her gold chain. Chandrika was about to fall off the bike but the rider managed to save her from hitting her head on the road and escaped.The Cantonment crime police have registered a case and valued the stolen ornament to be worth Rs 80,000.
