Trichy: A 68-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Koraiyaru bridge here on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Kaliyaperumal from North Street in Karumandapam.Police said that the body was spotted in the bushes under the bridge on the Trichy- Dindigul road early in the morning by two of his relatives. While recovering the body, Edamalaipattipudhur police found his bicycle at a Tasmac shop near the spot. Officials said that an investigation was on to ascertain the cause of the death though the body did not have any suspicious marks. Kaliyaperumal is survived by his wife and five sons.Police said that his family members had already a complaint with the Edmalaipattipudhur station as he has been missing since Tuesday.Police brought the body to Mahatma Gandhi memorial government hospital (MGMGH) for post-mortem and was later handed over to his family. Investigators are waiting for the autopsy report to make further assessments about the death, police said.
