Trichy: A woman and man have lost their gold ornaments after a few unidentified men attacked them and sped away with their gold chains in separate incidents in Trichy.R Ananthi, 65, of Ayyappa Nagar in KK Nagar, Trichy, was relieved of her 4.5 sovereigns of gold chain near on Vanni Vinayagar Street while she was taking a stroll. As per her complaint, two men followed her on a bike and grabbed her six sovereigns of gold chain before fleeing the spot.Police said that the woman has tried to resist their robbery but was unfortunate to give away the valuable as the attackers snapped it before pulling away fast, leaving a broken piece with the woman. The woman registered a complaint with KK Nagar police last evening.She said the incident also left an injury to her neck. The police registered a case and investigation was underway. In the second incident, reported from Cauvery Bridge, a man identified as T Badrinath, 48, VOC Street in Srirangam was robbed of his 1.25 grams of gold chain by unnamed duo.Badrinath was walking along the bridge when two men on an auto-rickshaw approached him and snatched the chain from his neck and fled the scene. He lodged a complaint with Srirangam crime police. The police registered a case last night and are investigating.
